Google Docs gets new feature and tools

Google Docs just added some new features to its Presentation component. It seem that the Feedback team got was good, and they've been busy adding more features that people have been requesting to make their product better. As they announced on Google Docs blog:

• Save as PDF, for when you really need to download your presentation as a file.
• PDF-based printing options (save trees and ink!). Go to File->Print, select how many slides you'd like on a page (up to 12), and preview your choice.
• Vector shapes, for your basic diagramming and drawing needs. Use block arrows to point out what's important, or say something in a call-out bubble.

Earlier this year, Google Docs team also added a feature that allows us to embed Google Presentation file as Flash-base slides how to any site. Unfortunately, Google Presentaion still lacks some important features like Save as PPT and Slide Master, etc.

Another news related to Google Docs: Google Data team has released a new Windows client called DocList Uploader that lets you easily upload multiple documents from the desktop to your Google Docs account. Files can be uploaded to Google Docs via the right-click menu or drag-and-drop functionality. You can download the DocList Uploader from Google API Blog to have your own experience of the new windows-client from Google.

Also, if you're Firefox lover you can install gDocsBar which is a Firefox extension. The gDocsBar allows you always-on access to your entire collection of Google Documents in Firefox sidebar. Uploading documents to Google Docs has never been easier than with gDocsBar. Simply drag and drop a file to the upload section at the bottom of the gDocsBar sidebar, and the file is instantly uploaded. Now that you're logged in, you'll see a list of your Google Documents, including Spreadsheets and Presentations. You have the option to sort them by date, title, or author, in ascending or descending order. There are also tabs for each type of Google Docs, so that, if you so choose, you can see only one type of document at a time. All documents are instantly searchable by name, author, or content.
